Drone Defence has unveiled AeroStrike, a high-speed drone interceptor developed to counter hostile and unauthorised unmanned aerial systems operating in high threat environments.
The introduction of AeroStrike reflects the changing nature of aerial threats, where small and fast-moving drones are increasingly used in contested and security sensitive environments. In many such scenarios, reliance on detection alone or electronic countermeasures does not provide sufficient assurance of outcome. AeroStrike has been designed to provide a physical interception capability where certainty and response time are critical.
The system is intended for defensive use by government, defence, and security organisations tasked with protecting sensitive sites, personnel, and critical assets. It has been engineered to operate in environments where jamming or GNSS disruption may be restricted, ineffective, or operationally unsuitable.
AeroStrike is designed around a high-speed interceptor platform capable of rapidly closing on fast moving aerial targets. The emphasis of the design is on reaction time, precision control, and repeatable performance. The interceptor is deployed quickly following detection and is intended to physically engage a hostile drone to prevent it from completing its mission.
Unlike solutions that rely solely on electronic disruption, AeroStrike provides a deterministic outcome through controlled physical engagement. This approach reduces uncertainty in complex electromagnetic environments and against drones that may be resistant to signal based countermeasures.
The interceptor uses a non-explosive and recoverable architecture, supporting lawful defensive use and controlled operations. The system has been designed to minimise collateral risk and to allow recovery following engagement, enabling repeat use and post operation assessment.
Features include:
- Maximum speed up to 270 km/h
- 100–200 km/h intercept envelope for agile targets
- Rapid-response effector optimised for close-to-mid range engagements
- Operator-in-the-loop, retaining human decision-making throughout
- Automated or manual intercept control, including FPV flight
- Direct integration with AeroTracker for flight monitoring, tasking, and intercept management
- Cueing-ready, designed to integrate with radar, RF, and EO/IR detection
- Deployable system concept, built for fast repositioning and repeat use
Operational simplicity has been a core design requirement. AeroStrike is intended to integrate with existing detection and monitoring systems and to be deployed with minimal setup. The platform has been developed to reduce operator workload during time critical engagements while maintaining precise control throughout the intercept phase.
AeroStrike has been developed with regulatory compliance and responsible deployment in mind. All supply and use of the system is subject to applicable UK export controls, regulatory approval, and end user assessment. Engagement is limited to qualified organisations and authorities.
Private technical briefings and controlled demonstrations of AeroStrike are now being offered.
