Full Stack Engineer

  • SALARY
    £40k to £70k DoE
  • LOCATION
    We are headquartered in Retford, Nottinghamshire, with a direct rail link from London and the north, along with direct access from the A1 motorway.
  • WORKING HOURS

    We believe that we are better together and that by sharing the same space we are better able to deal with the complex challenges we face. Therefore, this role is ideally office-based, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.

    However, providing objectives are met and positive communication is maintained, we are open to flexible working.

Due to continued expansion, Drone Defence Services Ltd are looking for a mid to senior level Full Stack Software Engineer to join our highly skilled drone software development team.

We are specialists in supporting a sustainable future where drones change the way we view, interact with and move around our world.

Everything we do is about enabling drone technology and demonstrating its potential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled individual to join our development team at an exciting time, as we expand and bring new products to the market.

The successful candidate would need to be highly driven in the following areas;

  • Provide accurate estimates with regards to work and work to a schedule.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of the industry and trends, particularly regarding development.
  • Keep abreast of usability standards and emerging technologies.
  • Be a team player and keep team members informed as appropriate.
  • Work hard to keep our software ahead of our competitors, positioning yourself and the company as specialists in aviation software.
  • On the back-end side you must have extensively worked with one of the languages used for designing back-end systems such as NodeJS, Python (Django or Flask), Laravel or Go.
  • On the front-end you must be comfortable working with Angular, Vue, React, Javascript, CSS and HTML.
  • On the database side you must have firm command on either SQL or Mongo DB.
  • Good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Ability to work within the team and independently to meet deadlines.
  • Must have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent coding skills and good understanding of the necessities of cross-browser production.
  • Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries to create rich interactive content.
  • In-depth experience working with web technologies such as HTML5 and deploying solutions across responsive, cross platform devices/browsers.
  • Understanding the necessity for automated testing (unit tests).

An SC level security clearance may be required for this role, and candidates should already have, or be capable of obtaining UK SC clearance.
