Drone security

Government Buildings – How Are They At Risk?

Whether you agree or disagree with the government, a lot of what they do helps to keep your normal lives as they are. Police, emergency services and public services are all things which are run and maintained by the government. Therefore, there has to be a certain level of security which goes into government buildings – the Houses of Parliament, official government buildings etc. But are these places under threat by a new potential issue, and if so how do we guard against it?

Government Buildings: Drones?

The answer to the question we asked isn’t as obvious as you would have first thought. There’s a lot which could be a potential threat to a government, but this wasn’t quite one of those obvious options. Drones have always been such passive and fun filled things, right? You see them on the streets and in cities, being flown and controlled by young people who just want to enjoy the experience of seeing the world from the air. There couldn’t be any hostility in that. Right?

Government Buildings: To Give An Example

Unfortunately, that’s just not the case. There are a fair few numbers of ways that a drone can be a potentially damaging force. We’re going to look at an example here and now. Imagine a drone flies over a government building. It’s small and discreet, so no one pays it any attention. But then it doesn’t fly on, as you might expect. It stays. The camera takes note of seemingly random thing about the building – what security exists, how many entrances and exits there are. How well guarded are some of these entrances and exits? These may all seem like strange details for a drone to focus on, but what happens if it went back to someone who wasn’t just a youth? What if someone who could pose a threat to security got hold of those details?

Government Buildings: What Can Be Done?

Obviously, you can begin to see where the problems are, and how a potential situation can quickly develop. Thankfully, there are a few different things that can be done to prevent a situation like this from getting out of hand. The Dynopis system provides a way to jam the signal to any kind of drone.  Which will allow you to stop anyone from entering the airspace around your building. Alternatively, the Drone Detection software will allow you to be able to detect the signals of drones as they come close, providing you with an early warning system.

Overall, the potential threat posed by a drone can be very real in a government building. You have to make sure that you’re ready to deal with anything. This will help you to make sure that you are not at risk of drone-based attacks or espionage. Drones may seem like a small threat now, but people will take advantage of that to cause problems. You have to make sure that you’re going to be using your technology to stop them from coming near you. Otherwise, you could have a problem on your hands.
